Jim and Gayle Garvin and the Garvin Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis reside in rural Missouri.   Their home is located on four acres in Centertown, Missouri.  Centertown is nine miles west of Jefferson City, Missouri's Capital.

Jim and Gayle purchased their first Pembroke Welsh Corgi approximately 31 years ago.  They became more interested in the Pembroke, decided to join the Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club and in 1981 joined the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America.

Several of the most well known Garvin Pembrokes are:  Ch. Garvins Summer Color CDX who won Best of Breed from the classes at the 1983 PWCCA National Specialty (Judges: Miss Pat Curties - Lees Kennels UK and Miss Patsy Hewen-Stormerbanks Kennels UK) "Summer Color" has been featured on the front cover of the AKC Gazette, Dog Fancy Magazine, and Dog World Magazine.

The same year that Summer Color won the National Ch. Garvins Magic Marker ROMX was born.  His son Ch. Northrun Sea Go'in Magic won Best of Breed at two Nationals.  Magic Marker died at 8 years of age.  At the time of his death he had sired over 30 Champions.

Jim and Gayle Garvin have been honored to be the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America's Breeders of the Year and Obedience Breeders of the Year.  The Garvins are the breeders of OTCH Garvins Grandmaster Freddie, TD.  He was High in Trial at a National and the first male in the Pembroke breed to receive the OTCH.

Over the years the Garvins have bred and owned Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite sex at the following regional specialties:  Lakeshore PWCC, Cascade PWCC, Greater Houston PWCF.  They also bred a BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES winner at a PWCCA National.  They have won TWO, BEST PUPPY awards at PWCCA NATIONALS.  The winners were: Garvins Baby Bird and Ch. Otrek Christmas Carol.

Gayle applied to judge for the AKC both Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis plus Junior Showmanship in 1992 and was granted regular judging status in 1993.  She also judges Shetland Sheepdogs and Australian Shepherds

The Garvins purchased their first Cardigan in l987.  They own the Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, at the 1992 Cardigan Welsh Corgi National Specialty in Houston, TX.  They own the Best of Breed winner at the 1993 Cardigan Welsh Corgi National Specialty.

The Garvins homebred bitch was BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES at the National Specialty held in Ft. Worth, TX.   They also won BEST BRED BY at the same National Specialty.

Gayle Garvin Judged the National Specialty in New Zealand.  Falling in love with their wonderful Country and corgis decided to import three top Cardigans to the United States.  The imported Cardigans have enhanced the Garvin's breeding program immensely adding deep quality to the native bloodlines.
Jim and Gayle Garvin will always be grateful to the New Zealand Cardigan Kennels for sending us their very best: Imported to the US:

Puppies will be available through 2002 and early 2003.  (Both Pembrokes and Cardigans) There will be some young adults for placement and some mature corgis looking for retirement.
